Serg Ixygon

Serg Ixygon was born in Russia. He graduated from the Moscow State University and has a Ph.D. in Science.

He chose a professional career of the artist a few years ago becoming the member of The Artists Trade Union of Russia. From that time he has taken part in a number of solo and group shows in Russia and abroad. His works are in The Museum "Portrait of The Artist" and private collections in Russia, Ukraine, Great Britain, USA, Germany, Denmark.

Ixygon, whose primary education was concentrated in the Sciences, focuses as an artist on the construction of the subconscious, from colour field painting mimicking American abstract Expressionists to presenting black and white surrealistic canvases. Sometimes he shows the "other side" of the mirror and depicts the real world in the style of post-impressionists or modernists of the early 20th century. His works show the strong influence of the Russian Avant-Garde, from Malevich to Kandinsky.
